RWU CPC Article December 2013
DHPT has been fortunate to have a partner in Roger Williams University’s Community Partnerships Center. So far, we have worked with the university’s education department’s social studies class for training elementary education teachers.
In December 2013, eight students developed unit plans for teachers and children in grades 3, 4, and 5 under the auspices of DHPT’s Curriculum Development and Living History Programming application. These projects will make it possible for the Cultural Heritage Center to offer educational programming, making use of the Akin House property as a living history classroom.
