The focus of our preservation efforts
Since DHPT obtained its non-profit status in 2007 has been the stewardship of the 1762 Elihu Akin House, a town-owned property which it leases from the Town in order to restore and transform the property into a cultural heritage and education center.
This project has benefited from the Town’s Community Preservation Act (CPA), funded by taxpayers as a surcharge to property taxes and through generous private donations and memberships.
